| Pinciple: | This human Epiregulin ELISA Kit is based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. A monoclonal antibody from mouse specific for Epiregulin has been pre-coated onto 96-well plates. Standards and test samples are added to the wells. A biotinylated detection polyclonal antibody from goat specific forEpiregulin is added, followed by washing with PBS or TBS buffer. An Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex is added and the unbound conjugates are washed away with PBS or TBS buffer. HRP substrate (TMB) is used to visualize the HRP enzymatic reaction. The HRP-TMB reaction initially produces a blue color that changes yellow upon adding the acidic stop solution. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the amount of human Epiregulin within the sample that is captured by the plate. |

| Background: | ANGPTL3, also known as Angiopoietin - like 3 or HYPLl, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ANGPTL3 gene. It is mapped to 1p31.3. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the angiopoietin - like family of secreted factors. It is expressed predominantly in the liver, and has the characteristic structure of angiopoietins, consisting of a signal peptide, N - terminal coiled - coil domain, and the C - terminal fibrinogen (FBN) - like domain. ANGPTL3 also acts as dual inhibitor of lipoprotein lipase (LPL) and endothelial lipase (EL), and increases plasma triglyceride and HDL cholesterol in rodents. It can inhibit endothelial lipase to catalyze HDL - phospholipid and increase HDL - PL levels. |
