| Pinciple: | This mouse TNFRSF17 ELISA Kit is based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. A monoclonal antibody from rat specific for TNFRSF17 has been pre-coated onto 96-well plates. Standards and test samples are added to the wells. A biotinylated detection polyclonal antibody from goat specific forTNFRSF17 is added, followed by washing with PBS or TBS buffer. An Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex is added and the unbound conjugates are washed away with PBS or TBS buffer. HRP substrate (TMB) is used to visualize the HRP enzymatic reaction. The HRP-TMB reaction initially produces a blue color that changes yellow upon adding the acidic stop solution. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the amount of mouse TNFRSF17 within the sample that is captured by the plate. |

| Background: | Angiopoietin - 2 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ANGPT2 gene. Angiopoietins are members of the vascular endothelial growth factor family and the only known growth factors largely specific for vascular endothelium. ANGPT2 is a naturally occurring antagonist of angiopoietin - 1 that competes for binding to the TIE2 receptor and blocks ANGPT1 - induced TIE2 autophosphorylation during vasculogenesis. Its expression occurs at sites of vascular remodelling: dorsal aorta and major aortic branches, ovary, placenta and uterus. |
