First developed in 1975, monoclonal antibodies (Mabs) have quietly changed the face of disease treament and diagnosis.   Today, 6 out of the top 10 best selling treatments are  Mabs.  Currently, Mabs are used to treat 50 diseases with a projection of being used in 70 treatments by 2020.
