Nanoparticles That Can Evade the Immune System

Coating drug delivery nanoparticles with platelets in order to avoid the body's immune system is not a new idea, but UC-San Diego researchers think they have come up with a way to make the treatment more effective. By developing a method that allows more of the platelet membrane to attach to the nanoparticle, the particles seem more able to avoid immune detection. However, not all are convinced approaches effectiveness.
